::Rupiah Strengthens Capital Inflow in February>>

Go Finance Reporting in JAKARTA - Trends in the strengthening of the rupiah which was held in January 2011 again continued in February 2011.

Strengthening is supported by various factors, among others, return of foreign capital inflows because foreign investors' positive perception of the strength of Indonesia's economic fundamentals.

In addition, the strengthening of the rupiah is also a positive response to the increase in the BI-Rate and Bank Indonesia's policy to make room for the strengthening of the rupiah as Bank Indonesia's strong commitment to controlling inflation.

That is one result of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia (RDG BI), as quoted in a written statement on Friday (03/04/2011).

"In February 2011 the rupiah strengthened 2.5 percent (ptp) to Rp8.818 per USD at the position February 28, 2011," wrote a description RDG results.

Appreciation of the rupiah has so far not affected the competitiveness of Indonesia from the exchange rate, because in the same period the countries in the region also experienced a strengthening exchange rate and even with a greater degree. (GoFinance)
